Duane “Dixie” Musgrave, 80, of Oblong, IL. passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at 2:42 p.m. at Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL.

Born on January 3, 1933 in Licking Township, Crawford County, he was the son of George L. Musgrave and Maudie (Mitchell) Musgrave.  Dixie was a farmer and retired from Marathon Oil Company, Refining Division in 1988 in Production Control.  He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War; was a member of the White Oak Church and First Christian Church of Oblong; a 50 year member of the Oblong Masonic Lodge #644; Crawford County Shrine, Oblong Antique Tractor and Engine Assoication and Crawford County Fair Board member. Dixie enjoyed refurbishing old tractors and engines, hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors.

On September 28, 1954, he married Joan (Treadway) Musgrave and she survives.  Also surviving are two daughters and son-in-law, Kim and Bill Wheeler, Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, Africa and Kelly Rich, Robinson, Il.; two sisters and brother-in-law, Darlene and Norman Stoltz, Patsy Kirts; sister-in-law, Dorothy Musgrave Wiman, all of Oblong, IL.; former sister-in-law Sharon Salesman of Robinson, IL.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Madeline and Bob Harris, Oblong, IL.; brother and sister-in-law Max and Sue Musgrave, Oblong, IL.; five grandchildren, Matthew Wheeler, Durango, CO.; Andrew and Leah Wheeler, Ashland, KY.; Ryerson and Abbey Rich, Indianapolis, IN.; Roston Rich, Ra’Kel and Colt Duke, all of Robinson, IL; four great-grandchildren: London Wheeler, Durango, Co.: Colby Elliott, Ashland, KY.; Easton Rich, Indianapolis, IN.; and Khegan Duke, Robinson, IL. and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, George and Maudie Musgrave; his mother and father-in-law, Bob and Katherine Hart; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen and
Gene Price, Mary and Alvin Kurpiel, Betty and Verl Wiman; two brothers, Bobbie and Denver Musgrave; and brother-in-law Jim Kirts.
